Advocate Tahal Thami has experiences working with indigenous related organisations for more than 15 years in different capacity. Prior to joining LAHURNIP, he has worked with NGO Federation of Nepalese Indigenous Peoples (NGO-FONIN) as programme officer and United Nations Mission in Nepal (UNMIN) as regional language assistant.

Mr. Thami has experiences working in leadership position in Nepal Indigenous Nationalities Students Federation -NINSF (Central Committee member and head of oganisational department), Association of Nepalese Thami Students-ANTS (Founding chairperson), NGO-FONIN (Secretary) and Association of Nepalese Indigenous Nationalities Journalist-ANIJ (chairperson, Kathmandu district chapter). He has also experiences working in the area of journalism. He has published books and articles in Thangmi, Khas-Nepal and English languages.

Mr. Thami holds MA in political science and economics from Tribhuvan University, Nepal. He has LL.B. degree from Nepal Law Campus.
