Closing session of High Level Policy Dialogue

A two day High Level Policy Dialogue on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples held on 6-7 January 2017 came to an end. Altogether five panel discussions were carried out on different themes where officials from eight different ministries presented the papers. Similarly, papers were also presented from the perspective of IPs. Before closing, Dr. Navin Rai summed up the two day dialogue. At the closing session, Mr. Chandra Bahadur Gurung, Vice-chairperson of National Foundation for Development of Indigenous Nationalities (NFDIN) was the chief guest.  Mr. Bairagi Kaila, Former Chancellor of Nepal Academy, Mr. Baijanath Chaudhary, MP, Mr. Parsuram Tamang, MP, Ms. Radha Timalsina, MP, Ms. Rukmini Chaudhary, MP, Ms. Anjana Tamli, MP were the guest. Similarly, Raja Devasish Roy, Vice-chair, UNPFII, Ms. Julia Raavad, Secretariat of UNPFII and Christian Erni, International Work Group for Indigenous Affairs (IWGIA) were also the guests. All the guests including chief guest delivered the remarked and at the end Ms. Shanti Kumari Rai, Chairperson of LAHURNIP put the closing remark thanking all the guests and participants for making this dialogue successful and declared the end of the programme.
