High Level Policy Dialogue, Fourth Session

Second day of High Level Policy Dialogue started with session on 'Collective rights and Indigenous Peoples’ Rights in law and emerging bill, constitution'. Three presentations were presented from the government, National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) and indigenous peoples' perspectives. Mr. Toya Natha Adhikari, Joint-Secretary, Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary, Ms. Sarita Gyawali Bhattarai, Human Rights Officer, National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) and Mr. Shankar Limbu respectively presented the paper focusing on the IPs. Participants from different government agencies, UN agencies, INGOs, indigenous peoples' organizations, IPs expert, academics and other non-indigenous people's organizations raised the questions in the floor discussion. Questions raised by the participants were answered by the presenters. This session was moderated by Hon'ble Mohana Ansari, Commissioner of NHRC.
