A Multi-stakeholder Dialogue on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Policy and Practice was held at Hyatt Regency, Kathmandu on 9 December 2016, to share the CSR policies and practices in Nepal from the government and private sectors thereby build common understanding among different stakeholders for protecting and respecting the rights of IPs and local communities in business related activities. Three papers were presented from government, private sector and IPs perspective respectively followed by open forum discussion. Most of the participants of the dialogue opined that there is lack of proper policies and mechanisms for conflict resolution in the project sites. The representatives of the ministry, private sector and IPs have pointed out the lack of dialogue between the stakeholders. This was the first dialogue on CSR which has broken the ice and created room for further dialogue in future.
