Mukkumlung (Pathivara) is the sacred site of Yakhtung ("Limbu") Indigenous Peoples that lies in the hill of Taplejung district, eastern Nepal. Mundhum – an ancient folk literature and the world view of Yakthung ("Limbu") Indigenous Peoples - describes the significance of Mukkumlung on the spiritual lives of Yakthung Peoples.
Mukumlung was renamed as "Pathivara" in Khas Nepali language and established Pathibhara Devi temple which is one of the most significant Hindu temples of Nepal.
Pathibhara Mata Devi Darshan Cable Car Pvt Ltd- a company established by Yeti Business Grup- has announced to start the construction of cable care to do the business in the pretext of making easy access to the temple without obtaining Free Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC) of peoples concerned.
The Krant Yakthum Chumlung – the Indigenous Peoples Organization of "Limbu" Yakthung Indigenous peoples, Mukkumlung struggle committee, Teaplejung, Dharan Panthar Cultural Activists, Yakthung ("Limbu") Sayang, filed the writ petition in Supreme Court on 15 February 2021 demanding the rights of FPIC to be respected.
The court issued show cause order to the government of Nepal and company on 18 February 2021.
